Water Treatment Firm on Track for Growth in 2019 as it Appoints New Head of Sales
Billingham based water treatment firm, Biochemica Water, has appointed a new head of sales as part of their 3-year growth plan.
The water and wastewater treatment experts, based on Cowpen Lane Industrial Estate, are half-way through their 3-year plan to grow the company nationally, which has seen them acquire Glasgow based water treatment firm EPM in September 2018 and also expand into Northern Ireland.
After year-on-year growth since inception in 2007, Biochemica Water set out a 3-year growth plan in 2017 which outlined plans to increase employees, premises and customers. With a 52% increase in employees since 2017 and the acquisition of EPM and the Northern Ireland offices, the water treatment experts are well on track to achieve their 3-year growth target.
The acquisition of Michael Morrison as head of sales was made to help grow the customer base and to achieve the 3-year growth plan. Michael, originally from New Zealand, brings with him over 10-years of experience in the water treatment industry and will be focusing on growing the sales with larger contract wins.
Biochemica Water Managing Director John Fraser believes the acquisition of Michael is further proof of Biochemica Water’s growing reputation in the water industry: “In our industry we are a relative newcomer, so our recent growth is even more extraordinary considering how long we have been operating and how competitive the industry is. We have to evolve as we grow as a company which is why the appointment of Michael comes at a pivotal time.”
“On the back of the EPM acquisition and our expansion in Northern Ireland, we have the tools in place to make significant growth. With the help of Michael, we can drive that growth through the development of the sales team and making significant progress in increasing our customer base.”
“I believe with Michael’s vast experience in the water treatment industry, we have the right man to take us forward.”
Biochemica Water, established by Teesside born Dave Ruddy and his business partner Dr Tim Robinson, provides legionella control, boiler & cooling water treatment and wastewater treatment services to a number of industries nationwide. The company was awarded SME of the Year at the 2018 NEPIC Awards and was also shortlisted for Company of the Year at the North East Business Awards Teesside heat last March.
On joining the company, new Head of Sales Michael Morrison said: “Biochemica Water is becoming increasingly recognised in the water treatment industry, so when John and Dave got in touch, I knew it was an opportunity I had to listen to.”
“I’m really excited about the opportunity ahead, we’ve already made significant steps in our 3-year growth plan and now I can put plans in place to really push the sales growth and help Biochemica Water achieve their objectives.”
