North East headquartered water and waste water treatment specialist, Biochemica UK Ltd has appointed a Warehouse Assistant Apprentice to provide support to its growing chemical distribution operations.
21 year old Jonny Lofthouse was recruited following a surge in demand for Biochemica’s water treatment chemicals from new and existing clients across the UK and Ireland.
As a Warehouse Assistant Apprentice, Jonny works alongside Biochemica’s dedicated warehouse team to enable the smooth day-to-day running of the company’s 2,400 square metre facility. He will also undertake an apprenticeship in Warehouse and Storage (Skills for Logistics), delivered by Biochemica and training provider, Key Training.
Jonny, who lives in Billingham where Biochemica’s head office and warehouse facility is based, said: “I’m really happy to have joined Biochemica and I am excited by the prospect of learning new skills and working as part of a large and friendly team.
“I am most looking forward to gaining my forklift truck certificate and learning more about the water treatment industry as whole from the wider Biochemica team, who are highly experienced in this field. I have a lot to learn and will seize this opportunity with both hands to progress my career.”
Managing Director, Dave Ruddy said: “Jonny is the second apprentice to join our team this year as we continue to invest in local young people looking for employment that offers on-the-job training and learning opportunities.
“Our team has grown significantly already this year and we are continuing to expand as we enter new markets and increase our offering. We welcome Jonny to the team at an exciting time for Biochemica and I’m sure he will prove to be an asset to the company.”
